About

Retirement is not the problem. Overload is.

Retirement Overload helps Gen X and near-retirement adults who feel overwhelmed by the decisions, emotions, and life changes that come with retirement or preparing for retirement.

This is not just about money.

It is about identity, time, purpose, relationships, health, confidence, and figuring out what comes next when work is no longer the center of your life.

Why Retirement Overload exists

I didn’t build Retirement Overload because I had it all figured out.

I built it because I didn’t.

Like a lot of people my age, I spent decades doing what you’re supposed to do. Work hard. Build something. Take care of the people around you. Keep moving. And for a long time, that was enough of an answer. The job gave me structure. It gave me identity. It gave me a reason to get up in the morning that I never had to think too hard about.

Then that started to change.

Not all at once. Slowly. The way these things usually happen. I started asking questions I didn’t have good answers to. What comes next? Who am I outside of what I do? What does a life that actually means something look like from here?

I looked for help. I found financial advisors. I found motivational speakers. I found a lot of people trying to sell me something. What I didn’t find was someone willing to just be honest about how hard this transition actually is. How disorienting it feels. How it’s possible to have done everything right and still feel completely lost.

So I decided to build that instead.

Retirement Overload is not a financial platform. I’m not going to tell you when to take Social Security or how to rebalance your portfolio. What I’m going to do is talk honestly about the side of retirement that doesn’t get enough attention. The identity questions. The purpose questions. The quiet fear that you might waste this chapter of your life. The overload that comes from too many decisions and not enough clarity.

Because that’s what most people are actually carrying. And most of them are carrying it alone.

If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
